Quite a shock for this to happen. I couldn't believe it when I first heard the news, on Facebook of all places. Voting this Up and Interesting.
Just so sad!
I was on HP last evening after watching some recorded movies. HP was where I first learned of this tragedy. Whitney's passing certainly caught me with my guard down, especially at the young age of 48. It makes me remember how lucky I am to still be around at 55. We have lost a great person and entertainer. Thanks for the informative hub, Mark. Voted up, interesting and useful.
mark, Whitney Houston was like a shooting star the way she blazed across the hearts of so many admirers, all in awe of her beauty and her amazing voice. As you point out in your comments, the devastating news of the death of such a legend of music and of beauty highlights the importance of living life to the fullest.
I love her equating music with love: "if our kids grow up with music in their lives then there is no question that they will always, always be loved." She will always be loved and remembered through her music.
We never know our appointed time for slipping the "surly bonds of earth" in exchange for dancing "the skies on laughter-silvered wings" (John Gillespie Magee Jr., "High Flight").
My condolences to her family and friends for the loss of this star which shone with such breathtaking brilliance.
Thank you for posting this sad announcement.
Kind regards, Stessily
